  3. Provide host families with supplemental income while celebrating their cultural heritage.

CONTENT

1. Pre-Visit Workshops

Cultural sensitivity training for schools and corporates to ensure respectful and meaningful interactions.

Topics include:
(1) Understanding South-Asian Cultures – Key traditions, values, and customs of Pakistani, Indian, and Nepalese communities in Hong Kong.
(2) Effective Cross-Cultural Communication – How to engage respectfully and avoid unintentional offense.
(3) Reflecting on Personal Biases – Guided discussions on stereotypes and how to approach cultural exchange with an open mind.

2. Home Visits

2-hour immersive experiences where participants engage in cultural activities with ethnic minority families.

Activity examples:
(1) Storytelling – Host families share personal migration stories, folktales, and cultural history.
(2) Traditional Games – Learn and play games like Carrom (South-Asian tabletop game) or Kabaddi (team sport).
(3) Cooking & Dining Together – Prepare and enjoy authentic dishes like Biryani, Momos, or Chai.
(4) Cultural Art & Craft – Try hands-on activities like henna art or block printing.
