At Dimpact, we invite you to embark on an exciting journey of cultural discovery with our "Build a Town" experience.

Create a mini-town that celebrates the richness of ethnic diversity.

This program features six themed blocks representing distinct cultures—specifically Indian, Pakistani, and Nepali.

You can select between 2 to 6 stores to craft a unique cultural experience tailored to your organization.

Each store offers engaging activities and insights, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the culture.

Facilitated by Experienced Ethnic Minorities

Each store will be facilitated by an experienced ethnic minority, who bring authentic knowledge and personal stories.

This ensures that participants not only learn but also connect on a deeper level with the culture being represented.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Learn about South Asian currencies
Explore South Asian grocery shopping, including unique ingredients and daily supplies
Sample traditional snacks and sweets available in the store

Explore the spiritual side of ethnic minority culture through a mini temple experience. Participants will learn about various religious practices, rituals, and the importance of spirituality in daily life.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Experience South Asian religious practices through guided rituals
Participate in a traditional ceremony, such as making offerings
Discuss the significance of various symbols and artifacts found in the temple

Art Exhibit

Post Office

Connect with the rich traditions of ethnic minority communities in South Asian countries through the timeless art of handwritten correspondence. This experience celebrates cultural storytelling, craftsmanship, and the power of empathy to bridge distances and foster meaningful human connections.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Create a postcard using South Asian art techniques
Write a postcard to a South Asian orphan, sharing messages of hope and kindness

(The postcards are handcrafted by South Asian women using recycled paper. To promote eco-friendly practices, clients are encouraged to provide recycled paper for the postcards.)

Tea House

Sip on traditional tea as you explore the rich history and cultural significance of tea in South Asian countries. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the vibrant tea culture and the essential role spices play in their culinary traditions.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Grind and blend spices to create unique flavors
Enjoy a guided tea tasting session featuring various South Asian teas
Learn about the cultural significance of tea in South Asian traditions

School

Connect directly with members of South Asia's ethnic minority communities through authentic cultural exchange. This intimate experience focuses on shared learning, language discovery, and personal storytelling to build meaningful human connections.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Familiarize yourself with basic South Asian language phrases, including greetings and common expressions
Engage in a 1-on-1 conversation with the “school principal” about anything you feel curious about South Asia, including its culture, history, and traditions.

Explore the everyday elegance and cultural identity of South Asian ethnic minorities through their daily clothing and adornment practices. This experience highlights how traditional attire and henna are woven into the fabric of daily life, expressing personal and community identity.

Activities will vary based on the chosen culture and the length of the program, and may include:

Explore one of the South Asian beauty treatments - henna application
Try on traditional attire and accessories, such as sarees or turbans, for a cultural photo session
